Our Beliefs

Our Core Beliefs

We believe the Bible is the Inspired Word of God.

We believe God created the Heavens, the Earth, and everything on the Earth. He is the glue that holds it together. At the apex of His creation, He created Adam and Eve, in His image–in His likeness.
We believe there is one God, consisting of three parts: God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal, yet distinctive in purpose. Doctrinally, this is called the Trinity!

We believe in the Fall of Mankind. We believe we share in Adam’s rebellion against God. We know, by our own experience, the Apostle Paul’s declaration that “all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). We accept that the wages of Sin is death, not only physical, but spiritual. We realize that this is completely contrary to our original, created state of being. Only after Adam’s rebellion did mankind feel shame, guilt, and hide from God. Our sin nature has condemned us and in our own strength there is no escape from eternal damnation outside of Christ.

We believe that God, the Son, is the answer to the eternal condemnation of our souls. Paul declared, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved” (Rom. 10:9). And Peter preached, “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). John the Baptist prophesied, when Jesus presented Himself for baptism, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world” (John 1:29). Jesus said of Himself, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).

Outside of Jerusalem, on a hill called Golgotha, the place of the skull, Jesus’ bloody, beaten body was crucified. He was mocked, insulted, stabbed with a spear, and finally given a drink of soured wine on a sponge lifted to His lips on a hyssop. Jesus said, “It is finished!” “Tetelestai, Tetelestai” – literally, “The debit has been paid in full!” God’s justice has been satisfied and Hell has been defeated! Jesus is the Savior of the World!
We believe in God, the Holy Spirit. “These things I have spoken to you, that you may be kept from stumbling. They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. And these things they will do, because they have not known the Father, or Me. But these things I have spoken to you, that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you, at the beginning, because I was with you. But now, I am going to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer behold me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.” (John 16:1-11)

We believe that Jesus will not leave us as spiritual orphans; He will come to us in the person of the Holy Spirit.

We believe for a person to begin the journey with Christ, he must be born of the Holy Spirit. We believe for persons to continue in Christ, to persevere, they must be baptized–covered with the Holy Spirit. We believe for persons to walk in the service of Christ, they must be empowered by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in God, the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ. Upon Peter’s confession of faith, Jesus basically told Peter, “Upon His confession, He (Jesus) would build His church.” Our confession of faith that Jesus is the Christ is the foundation of the church. Paul said, “Christ is the head of the Church, that Christ Himself is the Savior of the Body of Christ.” Timothy speaks of the Household of God as the Living Church of God.
We, who are sold out to Christ, are His Body on this earth. We are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. We are the community of the faithful.
